Clinical Massage techniques, Myofascial Release, Trigger Point Release, Scar-work and Craniosacral Therapy could be used to help you release tightness and tension and explore restrictions that are causing problems.
This is a fairly focussed session, generally working on an area of the body that has been giving you problems, or an areas that might be causing/ contributing to those problems.
working on releasing the muscles, fascia, trigger points and/or any associated restrictions that seem to be involved. If there is an emotional component we work gently with that too.
This is recommended for problems such as emotional difficulties, headaches, digestive issues, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, ongoing joint issues, recovering from injuries or operations, areas that feel persistently stuck, problematic or painful.
You may be encouraged to observe what is happening in your body at times during treatment in order to connect with what is going on for you.
You may remain partially clothed for this treatment, depending on how we decide to work.
Aromatherapy oils may be used where supportive.
Louise will generally give you some self care suggestions to work on at home, ie stretching, mobilisation, using spiky massage or self fascial release balls or self massage, at the end of your session.
At least one follow up session will generally be needed after your initial appointment.
A course of sessions is generally recommended for full benefit.
Therapeutic Massage in Kelvedon
Massage to ease stress and tension and aid relaxation. Hot Stones and/or Aromatherapy can be included where beneficial. Appointments can be 60, 75 or 90 minutes.
60 minutes is generally a Back, neck and shoulder massage OR Back with head and face massage
75 minutes is generally Upper Body Massage or Back, Legs & Feet
90 minutes is generally Full Body Massage
All treatments will be adapted to your needs or what you would like to receive within the time allowed
This will be a flowing massage which varies between gentle pressure and deeper tissue work

The Meridians or energy lines of the body all start or finish in these peripheral areas we will be working on, and accessing these points through gentle touch is a powerful way to balance the body systems, release stress and tension and improve wellbeing.
You can remain clothed and lie on your back supported with pillows and bolsters.

Seated Chair Massage in Kelvedon
Massage, trigger point work and acupressure treatment to the upper body
Eastern style massage treatment to the Upper body in a specially designed chair. Deep Pressure, muscle release, trigger point work and styles such as tapotement, acupressure and energetic light healing touch can be applied as needed.
You sit with your lower legs on the pads of the chair, leaning forward into the chest rest with your face in the face cradle.
You can receive work to your back, neck and shoulders, You can also sit up and have work into your scalp, arms and hands as liked.
This massage is generally done through light clothing and no oil is generally used.
It can feel deeply relaxing and restorative, alleviate aches and pains and least you feeling revitalised with better energy flow.
Perfect for when you want a shorter treatment, great to be able to access common problem areas without getting undressed and onto the couch.
The style can be adapted to different needs but is not generally suitable during pregnancy due to the positioning.
Seated massage is often used in the workplace, at events and festivals etc. Louise can bring her chair to you for a group session or for an event on request.
Pregnancy Massage in Kelvedon
Side lying Pregnancy Massage with Aromatherapy if you would like
Massage adapted for pregnancy. You will be supported with pillows and bolsters.
Will generally be a treatment designed around your needs depending what stage of pregnancy you are at and how you are feeling in your body-mind. Great care will be taken around your safety and comfort.
Pregnancy Massage generally concentrates on helping you to feel relaxed in body and mind which can benefit you and your baby.
If there are areas of tension or discomfort that you would like focussed on that can be accommodated.
A lot of deep tissue pressure would not be appropriate generally but muscular tension in the low back, hips or neck and shoulders for example can be addressed as needed and sometimes people like more focussed work on their hands and feet for example if there is swelling from water retention.
Depending on how you want your treatment to be, we can recline you on your back for the end of the session to work on your head and face or feet and ankles for example.

You can come throughout your pregnancy for massage and Louise can make Aromatherapy products to support you through birthing and beyond as well if you wish.
Louise can provide personalised a workshop to teach your birth partner or anyone who supports you, some massage techniques to help you feel at your best during pregnancy and for birthing if you wish.
